Hi friends! I’ve been seeing so much amazing inspiration from nature lately, and it’s really got me wanting to bring more greenery inside.

I’ve found the most wonderful way to add that little touch of green to your home, and you don’t even need a garden! Terrariums are just so charming, simple to put together, and they make the most thoughtful gifts.

What I love most is how you can make them completely you, with so many styles. Today I’m sharing 15 DIY projects that I just adore, from quirky themed ones to just simple, beautiful vibes.

Upcycled and Unique

The upcycled light bulb terrarium is one of my all-time favorites. It’s just so different from the usual terrarium design and creates something so charming and unique. I love how it’s so space-savvy!

These little wonders are perfect as gifts, and you can fill them with more than plants. Think colorful sand or tiny rocks. It’s such a big visual impact for a project that takes almost no time to make.

This one might take a little more work, but the old coffee pot terrarium is so worth the extra effort. I just love that it lets you recycle something that might end up in the dump.

I think this is such a great idea for a workplace! You could use this idea for other things too, like jars or even old blender containers, but I have to say, the coffee pot feels especially refreshing.

How fun is this? A LEGO terrarium is so colorful and playful. This is a project that your kids will love just as much as you do. It’s a winner in my book!

Even if you can’t find a hexagonal container like this one, just work with a more common jar. You could even use a colorful, translucent one so the contents shine through. Just don’t forget to add those little LEGO people at the end!

Small and Colorful

There are so many ways you can combine a simple terrarium design with those more intricate miniature garden creations. You really get the best of both worlds! Basic terrariums usually take just 30 or 40 minutes to create once you have all your supplies.

The more detailed or themed ones, like this adorable elf terrarium, take a bit more time, but probably no more than a couple of hours. This is what makes them such a favorite for modern homeowners or for a really fun, personalized gift.

It’s All About Green!

Sometimes the rush of the concrete jungle can get to be a lot, right? And our small urban homes don’t always have room for a garden.

A little green oasis like this exquisite tabletop water garden is just such a captivating alternative. This miniature delight feels like a little piece of a tranquil haven. It’s almost magical when it’s done right!

You can use almost anything! Everything from wide-mouth glasses and vases to pretty glass containers and bowls can be used to craft a gorgeous terrarium.

I love the idea of filling them with succulents and different layers of sand, soil, and rocks for a more varied look. And for those of you looking to change up the theme, you can try making terrariums that add to that chic coastal or beach style in your home without being too over the top.

Geometric Designs

Combining two big trends is such a great way to bring your living room to life, and geo terrariums do just that. You can either create one on your own or even buy one right off the shelf. There are some gorgeous choices out there, like this faceted geo terrarium.

This gold geometric terrarium offers so much more than just flowery freshness. If you look closer, you’ll see two beautifully placed wedding rings inside!

Yes, a perfect place to put those rings before the big day. Plus, you’re left with an elegant centerpiece that will never go out of style! This ring box is a total showstopper.

For every Star Wars addict out there, this one is for you! All you need is soil, sand, rocks, a few green plants, a glass container, and your favorite Star Wars character in a setting you create.

I love that you can easily change the backdrop and create a more barren setting to paint a totally different scene. And even if you remove the Star Wars theme, this terrarium still looks super cool.
