Today, I wanted to share some of the beautiful possibilities with modern outdoor office sheds and how they can create a self sufficient and productive space for you to make a living and create.

Its curvy form is just stunning and was designed to feel organic in the garden. It creates these wonderful little pockets of space for both work and rest, and has a cool retro futuristic vibe that is just so charming!
2. Warm and Cozy Backyard Office
Here’s another beautiful project from Pod Space, the Micro Max Pod, which comes in under the $20,000 mark. Even though it’s small, it has a feature that you just don’t find in most offices, which is underfloor heating.
Can you just imagine how cozy it would be to work without shoes on? The rest of the design includes a full height window and a glazed door, beautiful Siberian larch cladding, and a white micro-porous paint inside. Perfection.
3. Contemporary Garden Office Vibes
Sometimes wood just doesn’t feel right with a newer contemporary house. In that case, I think a design from Studio Shed’s Signature Series could be the perfect addition to a yard.
These are made with Zip System weatherproof wall panels and corrugated Galvalume roofing, so you know they are built to last. The company even promises a lifetime of use, which is just amazing!
4. Custom Wooden Office Pod
The market for these backyard offices has grown so much that you don’t have to stick with prefabricated models from a catalog.
I love that you can have your own design built by professionals who specialize in construction and carpentry, like Paul Winters from Office in My Garden.
He offers custom designs and has a portfolio just filled with different types of units that blend a modern look with practical sensibilities.
5. Her Perfect Art Studio
This time around, I found an office shed that also serves as a “she shed” for one very lucky person. It’s the spot where she can work on her art, and it’s also a much needed workspace.
The build features four windows, a beautiful door, and it’s super easy to get it all set up.
6. Smart Garden Office Space
I think it’s so clever when a garden office can be repurposed for storage or other needs, like a workout room or even a guest house.
A professional photographer named Ben Rice had Green Studios build him a garden room where he could store his equipment and also get work done. The generous space inside also provides so many changeable options for the future.
7. Efficient and Stylish Backyard Studio
Sett Studio designed this backyard office to be not just stylish, but also really energy efficient because of its Structurally Insulated Panels. A tall window gives you views of the garden, while the solid wall provides a nice buffer from a busy street.
The beauty of having your own studio is that it totally eliminates a commute, which I love. But it’s not just about saving time. You can also order a garden pod design that will fit your every need, like adding extra space for client meetings or a separate room for taking a break.
This one was actually designed for a professional photographer to remove distractions and provide a place to meet clients and do small photoshoots.
8. Shaded and Private Office Retreat
I love that BLOOT Architecture combined a living space with a home office, and they did it all within permit free construction limits.
The result is this cube like brick structure with a timber facade and a Louvre system. It adds so much privacy for guests and helps eliminate visual distractions for anyone working inside.
9. Charming A-Frame Office Shed
If you’re dreaming of an office shed that looks just like a tiny home, this A-frame design is just perfect. It comes with vinyl shutters, which is so charming.
Depending on the size, it will cost between $4,000 and $8,300 to get this one in your garden. Then you’ll have to invest a little to turn this beautiful shed into a real office, but I think a little DIY work is always fun.
10. Sleek and Narrow Garden Studio
Having a long, narrow garden isn’t a problem when you have a custom design. The Garden Studio in Bussum is a narrow unit that can be used as a study, a guest house, and a place for storage.
Besides fitting perfectly into its allocated space, the studio’s design corresponds with the other buildings nearby, but it still has a fresh modern touch.
11. Ultra Modern Office Cube
Harwyn is also a really extraordinary office pod that totally challenges the rules of what a garden office can be. Its sleek and minimal design is more contemporary than modern, which I just love.
It’s built with a double layer protective system, making the Harwyn cubicle weatherproof. You can also add features like remote control blinds, a heating panel, and so many other things when you choose your design.
12. Clean and Contemporary Office
Peter Guthrie envisioned a clean, contemporary office in the garden without any unnecessary details. I love that it’s just the walls, the roof, and some natural light.
We like the simplicity of this project because it really focuses on work and cuts out distractions. There is just a thin glass transom for resting your eyes, so you don’t have to get up every fifteen minutes.
13. Inviting Wood Plank Office
There is just something so attractive about wooden plank siding. And it really seems like office pod manufacturers know this better than anyone.
Even the most modern office can look so inviting and stylish with this type of siding. You just have to look at this Green Studios garden office pod to see what I mean.

It’s possible to choose how many windows you want, what shape they should have, whether you want an awning, what the walls should be made of, and on and on. It really is a dream come true for anyone who loves to micromanage their projects like I do!
15. Minimalist and Green Office Shed
At the very least, your garden office can also double as a roof garden. It’s not just for looks, though. A green roof is a fantastic way to insulate a pod that’s sitting in a sunny spot.
Surrounding yourself with greenery is also a wonderful way to create the perfect retreat that will get your creativity flowing.
16. Sleek and Stylish Sky Pod
Here’s another one of the Pod Space designs, this one conceived by George Nijland. It’s hard to find a garden office shed that is more contemporary, sophisticated, and stylish.
A small Louvre system looks more decorative than practical, but I don’t think you would ever lack natural light with that huge skylight right in the middle of the pod’s ceiling. Just gorgeous!
17. Cozy and Custom Mini Pod
Even though the price for these can get up to $30,000, I think office pods can be totally worth it as a temporary or even permanent office space for your business. And it doesn’t have to be huge.
This small office shed was built for a chartered structural engineer, and apparently, it paid off.
18. Modern and Natural Office Shed
Backyard Room decided to combine functionality with a natural aesthetic in this tiny office shed project, and I just adore it.
It is not only surrounded by greenery, but it’s actually planted with it, which creates such an intimate and fairytale like retreat. A small pod like this is just enough to house a desk and a couple of chairs.
Outside, there’s an adjoining terrace and a bench for those productivity raising breaks or post lunch naps.
19. Versatile and Fully-Equipped Shed
This Summit series is another fantastic option, and it comes in several different formats. You can choose to go with a bathroom and a small kitchen, a bathroom and a large kitchen, or just a bathroom and a big open space.
I love that it’s all up to you and what you need. The office shed comes with top of the line bathroom amenities, sturdy flooring, a tankless water heater, and HVAC, to name a few things. The kitchen is also fully equipped if you decide to have one.
20. The Perfect Little House Shed
So many of these backyard office sheds remind me of those trendy tiny houses. I mean, seriously, it looks like you could actually live in some of these offices.
KitHaus specializes in small homes, but some of their sheds would make the perfect garden office, like this one from their K4 Series. It just goes to show that tiny structures are so much more versatile than they look.
21. Private and Modern Backyard Office
An Australian magazine called Inoutside designed a whole collection of modern outdoor home office sheds. You can get a little glimpse of what they offer in this Cooba unit.
It’s enclosed in wooden plank siding, and the office looks so stylish and modern with its modest black steel framed windows and glazed doors.
22. Glass-Walled Garden Office
Cube Life offers their expertise in garden building, along with modern home office model designs that are so beautiful, you could hold client meetings in them.
This particular shed is like no other because it features glass walls all around. But when you need to shut out all the distractions, there’s a louvre system to provide some comfort.
23. Futuristic and Focused OfficePOD
Do you ever want your office to have a futuristic or spaceship like aesthetic? The OfficePOD is the perfect candidate for that because it looks just like a small ship’s cabin that’s designed just for work.
The POD was created to eliminate distractions, so you can expect to have decent soundproofing and a sleek interior design.
24. Sleek and Simple Yoga Studio Office
These are also so much easier to fit with more traditional or simply older modern architecture. The sleekness and simplicity of a design like this just works wonders in any style.
Bold glass inclusions, like in this office and yoga studio by Neil Dusheiko, bring a contemporary feel to simple wooden structures.
25. Friendly and Customizable Office
Another really cool option is this shed, which gives you so many customization options. I love that you can pick the doors, the windows, the flooring, the roof, and so on.
The floors are insulated so you don’t have to worry about being cold, and the wall and ceiling insulation will help you enjoy the shed all year round.
