I’m always dreaming of ways to make our patio a beautiful, cozy sanctuary, and I have to admit, I am completely drawn to pavers. They are just so versatile, affordable, and low-maintenance!
Today I’m sharing some absolutely gorgeous paver patios, and I’ve included everything from charming rustic looks to super sleek modern designs. Have a look and tell me which one is your favorite!
Charming Brick Pavers
Brick pavers just add such a classic, charming feel to a patio. I love that warm, traditional look they bring to a yard. What’s interesting is that some of them aren’t even clay; they’re actually made from concrete and aggregate.
But they can also have a really fresh, modern appeal when you put them in a clean-lined setting. If you’re thinking of doing it yourself, there are some great guides out there for a dry-laid paver patio.

A Pop of Paint
Okay, you guys, this next idea is for all the adventurous DIYers out there! If you already have a simple paver patio and just want to jazz it up, painting might be the perfect project for you. I love this look!
The patio you see below was created by color staining the pavers using simple paint samples from the home improvement store. What a clever idea!

For a look that’s more painted than stained, check out this patio from Elsie Larson. She used Valspar latex porch and floor paint, starting with primer and then adding three coats of paint and a sealer.
Can we just talk about this color? The whole vibe is so chic, kind of Palm Springs meets Kate Spade. Just gorgeous!

Sleek and Modern Patios
I have to admit, I’m super attracted to the clean-lined, modern look that’s so popular right now. These paver patios have a contemporary, low-key aesthetic that’s just so soothing.
Often, you’ll see concrete pavers in these outdoor spaces. Just look at the patio in this yard, and I love how they added other modern touches, like that water feature, to complement it.

If you’re wondering what kind of paver to use for this sleek look, check out this gorgeous space. This patio uses large 18″ X 24″ cast concrete tiles.
These are made by pouring concrete into a mold, and you can usually buy them individually or by the palette. I think this is a fantastic option.

How yummy is this modern patio? It features pre-cast concrete that has a sand blast finish. I just love the way they’re combined with gravel, succulents, and other interesting plants. It creates such a beautiful balance.

Ready to get a little bit fancy? I adore the look of separating pavers with other materials, like gravel. Sometimes letting your pavers have a little breathing room is what makes the whole design so eye-catching.
Below we see large pavers mixed with edging and gravel. The result in all those shades of grey is just stunning.

You can always bring in a landscape designer to help with the job. They can help figure out all the logistics, like how far apart to place the pavers and how to compact the gravel properly.

We’re moving a little bit away from just patios, but I wanted to show you this, too. You can use pavers as an alternative to a lawn, especially when you mix in a ground cover like thyme. Isn’t that a beautiful, modern green look?
